“I support the establishment of naturalized areas in the City of Ottawa and the protection of woodlots.

I was very proud to open Lalande Conservation Park in Orléans which is a protected urban wood lots in south Orléans. I also look forward to ensuring funds are budgeted to purchase the outstanding portion of the woodlot from the property owner.

Further, despite losing at the Ontario Municipal Board to stop urban expansion in Cumberland I have been working very closely with homebuilders to protect and preserve natural areas of importance. Woodlots, streams and other natural areas of importance have all been preserved as part of the subdivision plans for Cardinal Creek Village.

I look forward to purchasing the balance of the woodlot which makes up Lalande Conservation Park and working with my colleagues on council to ensure areas of natural importance continue to be protected.”
