Save the Central Experimental Farm

On November 3, 2014, Ottawa West-Nepean MP John Baird, in his capacity as the Minister responsible for the National Capital Commission, announced that the federal government would make 60 acres (24 ha) of the Central Experimental Farm available for a new Ottawa Hospital facility.  He was flanked at the announcement by National Capital Commission CEO Mark Kristmanson and Ottawa Hospital CEO Jack Kitts.

Exactly what 60 acres would be given up changed since the original announcement.  On this image the blue lines indicate the currently proposed 60 acres, the red lines show an initial assessment of total impact.  An image printed in the Ottawa Citizen shows the original 60 acres, the revised 60 acres and Field No. 1.
