Agenda
The agenda was approved by consensus.
Minutes of April 19, 2011
Erwin moved, seconded by Alicia, to adopt the minutes of April 19 as amended. Carried.
Business arising
Meetings will henceforth be held on the 4th Tuesday of the month at the Champlain Park Fieldhouse, except for June and July when the meetings will be at the RA Centre Fieldhouse. Next dates are: June 28, July 26, August 23 and September 27.
Erwin will contact David Morrow to arrange a date for “Lessons Learned” post-Fernbank.
Amy raised the option of joining the Ontario Federation of Urban Neighbourhoods (F.U.N.) as a direct member, rather than via the Alliance’s membership in the Federation of Citizens’ Associations (FCA) as at present. No decision was taken.
Treasurer’s report
Janice reported there had been no activities.
Flewellyn OMB hearing
This portion of the hearings on appeals of OPA 76 (amendments to the Ottawa Official Plan – 5-year review) will begin on June 14. Amy will prepare an opening statement and attend that week. Erwin will join her on June 16 and 17. If not completed by then, the hearing will resume on June 27, when Erwin will again attend.
Membership secretariat
All information on past memberships is in Alicia’s hands. Membership administration is put on hold until the re-organization.
Priorities – current and possible actions
Discussion resulted in the following:
+ OMB appeals on Flewellyn, Airport and Country Lot Estates – Amy, Erwin and Sol.
+ South March Highlands and Greenbelt Master Plan review – Sol.
+ Tree by-law – Alicia to become familiar.
+ Site alteration by-law – Erwin
+ Summer BBQ – Alicia to work on plans and ideas.
+ Check-up on Urban Natural Areas – Jason.
+ Leitrim follow-up: Erwin and Sol.
