BUSINESS ARISING OUT OF THE MINUTES |

Amy and Barbara are yet to complete the NCC document and will have it done by the next meeting.
Our comment on the Preliminary draft Official Plan was sent to all members, and Chris presented it to Planning and Development Committee. Under Items held over, the Kanata issue has been assigned to Amy. |

MEMBERSHIPS/TREASURER’S REPORT |

Chris moved and JP seconded renewing our preparedness to donate $50 for assisting in sending brochures for saving the Leitrim wetland. Carried.
Amy moved and Sara seconded the acceptance of the membership of the Riverside Park Community and Recreation Association (Joe Parchelo), Sandra Lifshitz, and Graham Kempster. Carried. |
Chris will research the costs for federal incorporation.
Anyone who knows a lawyer who will be willing to provide his services for incorporation at a low fee should contact Chris to inform him. |

PESTICIDES LETTER |

Some amendments were discussed. JP moved and Connie seconded that the letter be sent as amended. Carried. | Amy will phone to see when the meeting starts on Nov. 21 and will register to speak if she can.
Amy will email the submitted draft. |

CITY BUDGET |
|
Chris received the document from the sub-committee yesterday. Bill moved and JP seconded suggesting that the City retain money in the budget for wildlife and bird care centers. Carried. | Chris is to head a committee which will look for items in the budget which affect greenspace and wildlife and will present these at board meetings which start in December. | |

NCC WORKSHOP REPORT |

Amy and Lillian were present at this Nov. 16 workshop which was centred on strategies for the future. Rogers did video the presentation that might be available on the NCC website. Amy has not yet received the report from the meeting. | The NCC is taking further comments on the strategies presented on Nov. 16 and anyone who has any suggestions should contact Amy with them. | |

STEWARDSHIP PORTAL |

The portal is looking for people to register and Greenprint is looking to survey environmental groups to assess their needs in a December meeting. JP pointed out that the GA should be cautious about the information it provides. | Any will email the details of the meeting to the list. | |

CHRISTMAS CARDS AND LETTERS |

Unicolor mail return labels will be available tomorrow.
JP moved and Sara seconded the sending of “home-made” bilingual greeting cards to all City Councillors, the NCC, and area MPs and MPPs. Carried. |
Bill will send last year’s card to JP as an example in design. | |

The appeal of the zoning change was rejected by the OMB, but the decision may be appealed. Work is to start at the site in spring. | JP will attend a Public Meeting tomorrow in Orleans. | |

An Open House on the Subwatershed Study is scheduled for next week. There is city resistance to the NCC’s request for part of the watershed. | ||

Bill received an email from a Boston sub-committee on natural space commending the GA website, which helped them attack a greenspace protection issue. | ||

ARTICLE IN THE CITIZEN |

Amy was interviewed by the paper and an article may appear in the Saturday Homes section. | ||

LEITRIM |
|
Sara reported that the DFO and the developers came to an agreement in September to allow Tartan to build a temporary stormwater pond. Construction may start soon. | ||
