Janice Seline

Janice Seline came to the Greenspace Alliance for help in 2003 when her landlord gave notice that he was about to remove the dozen-or-so fifty-year-old maples on her street. The trees are still standing, and she has been a member of the Alliance ever since. Prior to that, she was aware of the Alliance's work through the efforts of Bryan Hawley, a friend and founding member of the Alliance, to have land behind Fairlea Crescent rezoned. The residents of Fairlea Crescent and environs still enjoy the fields and woods behind their houses.

Janice Seline works as Executive Director of CARCC (Canadian Artists Representation Copyright Collective), an organization that represents visual artists for the use of their copyrights.

Amy Kempster

Amy has been involved with city planning issues for many years but has concentrated on  greenspace issues in the last decade. She has been retired for some years from Statistics Canada.

George Wilson (1942-2011)
In Memoriam

George was for many years an environmental activist. He served as Chair of the Ottawa Group of The Sierra Club of Canada, chaired the Greenspace Alliance in 2007 and co-chaired the Poets' Pathway Committee. He was a passionate advocate of walking, cycling and the use of public transit.

George retired as an English teacher.

Theresa Jobateh,

Theresa was first lured to the Greenspace Alliance due to an inspiring literary event in the fall of 2002 called "The Poets' Pathway".  This clever portrayal of Confederation era poets got her interested in the Greenspace Alliance's Poets’ Pathway project.  Over the past few years she has been volunteering at events and performing various tasks as time and energy permits.  She is impressed and humbled by the efforts of other Alliance members, is learning from them and doing her best in the collective efforts to protect Greenspace in the Ottawa area.  She is also a poet and budding author so has admitted to sacrificing a lot of paper - recycled mostly, of course!

Theresa works in the Information Technology field, wearing many hats in supporting various endeavours.
