Chalk River radioactive waste disposal facility

At our May 2017 monthly meeting, Ole Hendrickson, on behalf of Concerned Citizens of Renfrew County and Area, presented slides on Radioactive Wastes at Chalk River Laboratories. Goulbourn Wetlands Complex

At the instigation of environmentalists, in 2003 the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources evaluated the Goulbourn wetlands and found them to qualify as a Provincially Significant Wetland. Judge orders restoration of wetland

April 19, 2017 Ken McRae reports: I was informed today that the MVCA had appealed the decision of a local Justice of the Peace to not order landowner Mion and his numbered company to rehabilitate the part of the Goulbourn Wetlands Complex on his property which he had destroyed.
